2012 FLL

NEW!  Important Dates for the 2012 FLL Season
o    May 5th – Adult Coach/Mentors Workshop – Professional Development Credit granted – see details below
o    May 7th – Team registration opens – Link will open on the Arizona FLL site
o    August 11th  - Adult Coach/Mentors Workshop – details to come
o    August 28th – Challenge Release! – Link available on Arizona FLL site
o    September 15th – Season Kickoff at ASU’s Memorial Union Hall! – Details to come.
o    December 1st – Regional Qualifying tournaments – new tournaments may be scheduled on November 17th
o    December 8th – State Championship Tournament at ASU
 
·         Pricing for the 2012 FLL season now on the AZ FLL web site.
 
·         Introductory FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Workshop for ADULT COACHES/MENTORS – Saturday, May 5th
o    New!  State approved 6 Professional Development Hours granted for full-day participation!
o    Open ONLY to adult coaches and mentors.  Then you can share the learning with the children!
o    Saturday, May 5th – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Arizona State University, Tempe Campus, Memorial Union Hall, 1st Floor Union Stage
o    Register via email and mail the $10 fee for lunch and workshop materials to Patty Smith at the address below (Make checks payable to Arizona State University)
 
·         BEST Summer Program – Register now for 1-week summer programs for students entering grades 6-9!  Programs include introductory LEGO MINDSTORMS robotics instruction.
 
·         All Engineering Summer Programs and Outreach Activities
·         ASU Community Events/News:
o    Saturday, April 21 at ASU - MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) State Competition.  Volunteers needed - Contact Dr. Jan Snyder.
o    ASU opportunities for TEACHERS: MNS Masters Program in Middle School STEM - http://modelit.asu.edu/activities.  For STUDENTS: STEM summer programs - http://modelit.asu.edu/stem
