Uploaded content to web-site

Well, it all comes down to tonight.

Alan, Lahiru, Walker and Brenda - you have all worked diligently in putting together the proposal for a solution to the Moonbots - Google Lunar XPrize LEGO Mindstorms Challenge.

We have published our information on the Tucson Technics Web-Site.

Now it is a waiting game. You are competing with over 200 teams from all over the world.

Good luck!

Meeting today - blue painter tape

This afternoon we had a meeting in the Computer Lab.
  • All members were there.
  • Handed out Team T-Shirts to each member.
  • Then we talked about the moonbots rules.
  • We used blue painter's tape to mockup the lunar surface on the Computer Lab carpet.
  • We used Walker's ramp, crater, items (h20 and he3) and rock pieces to help conceptualize the lunar surface in the challenge.
  • Each member gave their ideas about how the vehicle might move around the surface from the platform to collecting the items and returning to the ramp.
  • Each member pretended to be a robot and went along the course, exaggerating their encounters with obstructions (like craters, rocks, and berm).
  • We discussed tasks needed to complete Phase 1.
  • Each member given a sheet with the lunar surface diagram and a bunch of mock-robots that they can cut out and pretend to be traveling over the lunar surface course.

Also, visited by:
  • Mr. Dogan (many thanks for his suggestions)
  • Mr. Tom
  • Mr. Jones
Early theme music:
  • Robot Rock by Daft Punk
